February 16th Wed at Big Al’s Vancouver out in Fishers Landing.
Vancouver Wa Beer and Blog will be having a kickoff meeting hosted at Big Al’s Bowling. They are excited about having us out there and have been very supportive in the couple of meetings that I have had with them.
As this is the kickoff meeting, there is no agenda this time, but will be getting a feel for the location, attendees and future topics that everyone would like to address. While I love the geeky social hour aspect of Beer and Blog, I would also love to bring back topical meetings where we can get some insight into new developments in Vancouver, new products, local people, etc.
At the moment we are also only looking at a once a month meeting, I will work with Big Al’s to determine if we stay on Wednesday night or move to Thursdays. If there is enough interest we may move to a more frequent schedule as well.
I look forward to meeting everyone and those that are new to Beer and Blog. Follow us @vanwabeerandblog for updates.

I’d like to pull together a list of venues who might be interested in hosting a Beer and Blog. If you know of a restaurant or club owner in the area that meet the following requirements, leave a comment and a contact if you have one:
- Sell good beer/drinks
- Have good, free wireless (or willing to get it)
- Can host a larger than normal group on occasion
Once I get a list of venues going, I will be contacting them to see if they will be a good fit.

Yes that is true. We are bringing our own chapter of B&B to the north side of the Columbia River.
Big thanks goes out to Justin for starting this great idea, and having attending quite a few of the Portland meetings, I wanted to bring that same feel of community to Vancouver.
I know I have had conversations with people over the last year wishing that there was something like this that didn’t involve dealing with the traffic back from Portland. As we develop a schedule and group meetings, we will have that here.
There will be a few more updates in the coming weeks and a big announcement for the first meeting.
Looking forward to starting this and seeing the growth and energy we have in Vancouver.
